The annual Culture Night where buildings, museums, galleries and more open their doors to the public for the night is happening tonight. Here’s a selection of  music highlights of Culture Night events happening in Dublin. All free.

1.

Sing Along Social

The Amphitheatre, Wood Quay

My wife Aoife McElwain’s pop culture singing party / zero-commitment choir Sing Along Social choses a theme, presses play and the gathered sing in unison and has taken off beyond her tiny expectations of filling the upstairs room of a pub in Dublin 8 to take on stages at Electric Picnic, Body&Soul, venues and private parties around the country and recently to the UK for the first time. For Culture Night, the infectious event will be providing lyric books for some well-known pop songs from Abba to Whitney, Fleetwood Mac to Journey, Bon Jovi to Sinead O’Connor. It’s a big laugh and one of the most fun things you can do even if you don’t like singing in public (I am biased obviously but look at the video below like).
