This Friday night, Fleetmac Wood’s DJ night playing exclusively remixes, edits and originals of Fleetwood Mac’s music returns to The Sugar Club after last year’s sold-out show.
The idea started in London in 2012 and has spread around the world to Burning Man and Glastonbury. Don’t expect a greatest hits set, this is a night for hardcore Mac fans.
As they say themselves:
If you’re not sure you like Fleetwood Mac, please don’t come. No really, don’t come. And don’t drag along your friend who doesn’t really like them either. This is an unadulterated, tunnel-visioned event, paying homage to the incredible musical journey that is Fleetwood Mac.
Tickets are available for Friday’s event but in the meantime, Fleetmac Wood shared their top 5 Mac remixes with us in anticipation.
1. ‘The Chain’ (Antenna Happy Acid Pit Stop mix)
That killer bass line gets dipped in acid by UK producer Antenna Happy and is always a heady moment at our parties.
2. ‘Dreams’ (Psychemagik Remix)
Premiered at our first party in London in 2012, this delicate reworking exemplifies what we love about remixes done well. Stevie astral travels to a disco in an alternate universe and hugs the bass bin. Cosmic crystal visions ensue…
3. ‘Never Going Back’ (Cosmic Kids Edit)
Slow and full to the brim with layered Buckingham acoustic guitar, this is an unexpected hit on the dance floor that gets everyone stomping and flinging their arms in the air.
4. ‘Edge of Seventeen’ – The Starkiller’s Seventeen Lightyears Remix
Slow and brooding with an epic build. Who knew it was possible to add even more drama to a Stevie Nicks song?
5. ‘You Make Loving Fun’ – Trail Mix
Deep and cosmic, this version of Christine McVie’s Rumours classic gets sexier every time we play it.

You may have been one of the lucky ones who saw Fleetwood Mac in the O2 Arena last year.
Well it’s just been announced that the full band including Christine McVie (there were rumours her appearing at the time, which happened after those dates), will be back for a show on Saturday June 20th as part of the On With The Show Tour for one night only in the 3 Arena (renamed from the O2).
Tickets for the second show are €55 plus fee on sale this Monday December 8th from Ticketmaster.ie.
While the new Wye Oak song actually sounds like Fleetwood Mac, a slew of artists from Lykke Li, Beast Coast, MGMT, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, St. Vincent to The Kills have actually recorded covers of Fleetwood Mac songs for the upcoming A Tribute To Fleetwood Mac album due mid-August.
