Stuart Howard aka Lapalux is responsible for some oozy and woozy electronic music. Releasing on the Brainfeeder label, his liquid music is a good fit for a roster that includes Daedelus, Samiyam and Thundercat. ‘Movement I, II & III’ is a three-part track which moves from hazed synths accompanied by blunted beats through jazzy soul twilit passages before circling both styles into one long outro.
The track is to celebrate his upcoming European tour. No date as yet for Ireland.
Just in time for the end of the year, the 44th Nialler9 podcast features great tracks that didn’t make my top 50 albums or top 100 songs list that deserved a bit more love. 14 tracks and 70 minutes in total with me babbling in between. Enjoy.
Lapalux’s aquatic sound is in full effect on ‘Forgetting And Learning Again’ brought to dry land only by Kerry Leatham’s English accent. The tune sounds positively surround sound once it hits into the second half. Killer stuff.
It’s taken from the Some Other Time EP, out on October 16th on Brainfeeder, a follow up to the sooperb When You’re Gone.
Stuart Howard Lapalux has a hazy slo-mo new seven-track EP out now on Brainfeeder. It has the ambient glazed beats and bells of ‘102 Hours of Introductions’, the shredded R&B of ‘Moments’ featuring Py on vocals, the blunted and warped ‘Gone’, the James Blake-esque vocal synth funk jam ‘Yellow 90’s’ and the skewed ‘Gutter Litter’. As you can gather there’s a lot of murky electronic depths explored and if you’re up for travelling through the fog, it’s a rewarding listen.
