Surviving members of long-running Cork come together with the aid of superfan Glen Hansard to celebrate the life of Fergus O’Farrell. Special fundraising show for Brú Columbanus – home-from-home accomodation for seriously-ill patients in Cork hospitals and hospice.

Quarter Block Party’s live-music bill kicks off with Anna-Mieke Bishop and collaborators, and violinist/vocalist Ena Brennan, a.k.a. Dowry.
Lowli @ The Friary (7pm, free)
Cork singer-songwriter Roisín Lowry, a.k.a Lowli, performs in the intimate surroundings of The Friary, following her live debut and E.P. launch gigs late last year.

The bossman comes down to Cork, bringing his How Music Works column alive in a free talk/discussion event as part of QBP proceedings.
Arthuritis, Not Earth & Crevice @ St. Peter’s Church (7.15pm, €10 for non-passholders)
A triple bill of eclectic local noisemaking. Arthur gives us the latest from his home-planet of Lukon 5, Not Earth play music never to be heard again, and Crevice give a rare live excursion, featuring Irene Buckley, Elaine Howley and Roslyn Steer.

Cork arts’ group-cooking community rebounds from the loss of Sample Studios with a Quarter Block Party appearance. Yoga and mindfulness exercises at 9.30am precede a morning of cooking and food prep, ahead of mealtime at 1pm and performances from QBP musical guests and a documentary screening.
