Flying Lotus hit some arbitrary milestone on Twitter so unleashed this mixtape of odds and ends which is pretty great for a rough draft, off-cuts collection of tunes. I’m currently working my way through the thing but loving the tracks with Shabazz Palaces, Baths, Niki Randa, Mapei (on a DJ Mehdi production) and one just called ‘Flotus’.
There’s also Thundercat playing bass over ‘Black Skinhead’ (not sure why), Captain Murphy track ‘Between Villains’ with DOOM’s Viktor Vaughn alterego. Lots of good stuff to delve into here and being Fly Lo, even his offcuts are more interesting than most musicians’ best work.
