Intro: Dublin synth pop band Flecks drop debut Girl EP

Avatar

The Dublin five-piece band Flecks dropped their debut EP Girl on Friday and established their credentials for making atmospheric electronic synthpop music in the process.

Flecks Freya Monks (vocals, violin), Scott Halliday (keys, guitar), Jay Wilson (keys), Paul Kenny (drums), and Alan Elliot (bass). They are a aseasoned lot with members have previous played with Gavin Glass, The Young Folk, Jape, Zaska, Loah, Cocophone and James Vincent McMorrow.

‘Girl’ is the the lead and title track from the EP, a wistful slice of alt-pop.

There’s a video for ‘Distance=Distance’ with footage from the video was shot on Super 8 by Freya’s uncle in the 1970’s in South Africa.

Distance=Distance (FLECKS)

You can catch them at tonight (May 10th) at the King Kong Club @ Whelans
