Irish synth pop artist Host comes to terms with heartbreak in debut single ‘Goodbye’

Luke Sharkey

Laois based solo female artist Host has spent the last year furiously writing and recording music. Operating independently, her debut single ‘Goodbye’ is the first of that material to be released to the public.

Taking inspiration from the 80s’ synth wave movement as well as drawing from more contemporary sources, think Hot Chip or Chvrches, Host’s sound is the perfect blend of old and new. A sound fully supported by the melancholy sparkle of the promo shots accompanying the track.

Coming in at just under four minutes long and brimming with infectious hooks, it’s easy to imagine a single like ‘Goodbye’ launching Host into the Irish music scene.
