Patrick O'Laoghaire has already supported Anna Calvi. Next stop The Great Escape and a debut EP.

As a member of other bands prior including Slow Skies, Patrick O’Laoghaire struck us with his own debut track, ‘Monsoon’, a piano lullaby with a gorgeous chorus and subtle electronic touches that lift it out of the ordinary. He’s since gone on to support Anna Calvi on her European tour. He’s following up that opening… Read more »

Amon Tobin-style beats from the duo accompanied by a dusky video from director Chris Lynch.

Late last year, I intro’d Contour, the vocal-lead electronic project from Conan Wynne, and primarily, Anna Doran on vocals. The pair have been working together on a live show and an EP called Chaos Theories which explores more bass and breaks, in the style of Amon Tobin. Wynne also expressed an interest in developing the… Read more »

A stunning cinematic accompaniment for one of the highlights from the Waterford man's album.

Deaf Joe’s From The Heights Of A Dream, was one of my recently recommended albums, is an exploratory neo-classical soundscape album informed by folk textures. Perfect for cinematic accompaniment, as provided here by director Neil O’Driscoll.

A fine free download from the re-emerging Kildare duo.

Planet Parade returned with two great new tracks earlier this year promising more. Here is more from Kildare’s Michael Hopkins and Andrew Lloyd in the form of ‘Before & After’, a track with synth-delay notes, brittle percussion and a fine vocal delivery that leaves a wash of nice sounds over your ears.

The band play 'Prisoner' live for the cameras.

Princess are the latest band to perform for the Trout Records live session. This one was shot at Asylum Studio at Bow Lane. The video was shot by SecondFrame and the song is called “Prisoner”, a melodic indie alt-rock track which switches up the tempo halfway through for a more involving outro.
