Boom Bip’s latest album passed me by but this collaborative project, Music For Sleeping Children, with photographer Charlie White is a lot of weird fun and has been in the works for over three years.
Music For Sleeping Children is based around Charlie White’s attempt to convey what it is to be an adolescent. White interviewed five teenage girls about their lives, school and teenage issues. Boom Bip then took snippets from each of the interviews and created songs to accompany the dialogue. It’s a sort of electro audio/visual documentary. There are music videos made for each track. Yes, the results are indeed “magical, uncomfortable, and original.”
The tracks are a free download from the website. It’l; be released on vinyl on Lex Records in January.
