UZ (or ︻╦╤─ ƱZ ─╤╦︻)

If it has a genre name (“trap”) then that indicates there’s enough people doing it to make a trend. UZ follows the likes of Lunice and Hudson Mohawke by releasing an EP called Trap Shit on Diplo’s Mad Decent which goes heavy on the 808 drum machine beats, hi-hats, rap samples, booming low end and eerie synths. Free download.

Kwes

If Sampha, SBTRKT, Metronomy and formed a supergroup it might sound a bit like the solo work of Kwes. The producer has worked with Ghostpoet, The xx, Speech Debelle and DELS and his solo album on Warp Records is finally coming around the bend in April.
