It’s International Women’s Day and if you’re a regular visitor to this site or have ears in general, you don’t need to be told how many great women artists are out there in the world.
So as a mark of my respect and to mark the day, here’s a 30-song plus playlist featuring my current favourite artists who happen to be female. Across many genres, we’ve got Caroline Rose, Wyvern Lingo, Avalon Emerson, Ailbhe Reddy, Erica Cody, SZA, Yaeji, Pillow Queens, Wolf Alice, Charli XCX, ROE and more.
This is just a token of my appreciation. We still have a long way to go to get more female representation in music. But if you want to do something today, there’s a March for Repeal today in Dublin at 5:30pm. Repeal the 8th because the ultimate respect we can give women is control over their own bodies. Make sure you’re registered to vote.
