Premiering here on the site today is ‘White Field (In Isis)’ by Stano, an Irish recording artist active since the early eightird.

The track is taken from his seminal 1983 LP Content To Write In I Dine Weathercraft, an avant-garde post-punk project which found the artist delving into production technologies which allowed him to warp and mould raw audio into a shape of his choosing.

The result is a forward-thinking and evocative post-punk record, reminiscent of groups like New Order and Talking Heads. Though this didn’t translate into commercial success, with the LP eventually going out of print.

Now All City Records have decided to reissue it, with it due to be released on October 15th. Listening in retrospect, it’s phenomenal to hear just how far ahead of the curve Stano was compared to what his Irish contemporaries were producing at the time.

Content To Write In I Dine will be available for purchase on vinyl from All City Record’s Bandcamp.
