€270,250 fund available to Irish musicians for instruments
Music Network who administer the Music Capital Scheme has announced that funding is now open for this year’s fund of €245,500 will be available to the fund this year for musicians.
The Music Capital Scheme, established by the Arts Council, supported by the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and managed by Music Network, comprises two distinct awards that provide funding for the purchase of musical instruments to both non-professional performing groups (usually brass and pipe bands) and to professional musicians (all individuals). The funds available are €163,40 and €82,000 respectively.
The Music Capital Scheme has funded 349 musicians, groups and organisations, benefitting up to 35,000 people throughout Ireland since its inception in 2008.
Musicians can see how to apply on the Music Network site.
Previous winners of the scheme can be seen on the Music Network site but 2018’s winners have yet to be added. Some spotlight artists are here.
