Los Angeles MC / producer Dominique Purdy releases a sketch show meets mockumentary concept album on Stones Throw inspired by a joke based on the concept of British actors playing Black Americans in leading roles in film and TV.
RZA & Bobby Digital – RZA Presents: Bobby Digital and the Pit of Snakes
Accompaniment to a graphic novel.
Sports Team – Gulp!
UK buzz band release their second album on Island. ‘R Entertainment’
Oh Wonder – 22 Make
Ultra-pop duo’s new album is inspired by their near-breakup but eventual closeness during lockdown. ‘Magnificent’.
Joey Bada$$ – 2000
The rapper references his breakthrough mixtape 1999 with a new release, featuring Diddy, Westside Gunn and sadly, Chris Brown.
Gavin James – The Sweetest Part
Third album from James arrives as he goes on a tour of record shops of Ireland and Whelan’s on Saturday.
Ty Segall – Hello, Hi
California rock’n’roller’s new one. Title track.
49th & Main – Must Be Nice EP
Kilkenny dance-pop duo release new EP on Counter Records.
Strabe – Jouvenoia EP
Scottish singer Angelica Black and Irish producer Emmet Carey’s new EP on PIAS.
Julien Baker – B-Sides EP
New songs compiled from Baker’s sessions for Little Oblivions.
Rico Nasty – Las Ruinas
Maryland rapper delivers Stereogum’s album of the week.
Bananarama – Masquerade
A new album of electro-dance from the Cruel Summer artists to mark 40 years in the game.
clipping – CLBBNG EP
Remix EP from the foreboding rap trio on Sub Pop.
Beach Bunny – Emotional Creature
Chicago-based indie-rock quartet’s second album.
Jamie T – The Theory Of Whatever
The singer-songwriter’s fifth full-length album, and first since 2016. He wrote 180 songs in that time and this album is the final 13 songs.
ODESZA – The Last Goodbye
Not the final album from the US symphonic electronic duo on Ninja Tune. Features Ólafur Arnalds, Julianna Barwick, Låpsley, The Knocks, Bettye LaVette, MARO, Izzy Bizu and Charlie Houston ‘Light Of Day (feat. Ólafur Arnalds)’
She & Him – Melt Away: A Tribute to Brian Wilson
M Ward and Zooey Deschanel honour the Beach Boy in chief.
Nina Nastasia – Riderless Horse
The New York-based songwriter’s first album in 12 years documents long-term abusive behaviour in a 25 year relationship fraught with control and manipulation. Read Nina’s description of it – very harrowing experience.
Sean Nicholas Savage – Shine
Canadian folkie songwriter who says he was leaning into his “Tatsuro Yamashita and Elliott Smith fandom” for this one. ‘Shine’
Moot Tapes – Signs of Life: Part 3

We Banjo 3 – Open the Road
Galway-based Americana band mark 10 years with a new longplayer.
Gavin Fox – Awakened
Irish singer-songwriter releases his first album at the age of 40.
