Laura Sheeran and Marc Aubele’s (Mirrorman) “alien pop” duo Nanu Nanu recorded four tracks for RTE Radio One’s Arena for Big Music Week over about six hours and the results have been released the recordings as a free EP. It does a great job of presenting the band in their best form, the new version of ‘Skin’ is like a stereo version to the older one’s mono while the excellent cover of Katie Kim’s ‘The Feast’ is my highlight. Download it at Bandcamp.
‘Skin’ at least, will feature on the duo’s debut album which is to be mixed by Rob Kirwan, is out next year on Flaming June Records and will feature a comic cook of their characters Glitterface and Mirrorman by Gemma Gallagher as well as an “online fantasy musical”. Tour dates around Ireland this month.
