After the teaser video for the new M83 album, we now have the first tune proper from Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. It’s not too far away from the big synth dream pop that defined 2008’s Saturdays = Youth except for that big saxophone solo at the end. Lovin’ the artwork too.
Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming is a double album and will be released on October 14th (17th – UK / 18th US). It features guests Zola Jesus, guitarist Brad Laner of ‘ 90’s band Medicine and Saturdays = Youth vocalist Morgan Kibby.
Anthony Gonzales says of the album:
Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming tackles themes of awakening, craving, and conquering, and delves into new vocal territory for M83. I think it is a reflection of my 30 years of being a human being. It’s a compilation of all my previous music together. It’s a retrospective of myself.”
Download the song here or play it below. Thanks to Loreana for the heads up.

That’s one scary mask, but a very cool sound. Hate to compare because I don’t really know anything about music with the exception of, “I like it” or “I don’t”, but the opening sequence sounds a little bit Passion-Pitty with more of a surrounding sound and edge.

The opening sequence sounds like something ethereal is about to happen. It’s not strayed too far from Saturday’s Youth sound and I can’t wait to hear this album.
I am rally looking forward to the album. This song is massive. The samples are somewhat bizarre. I think this would be on the soundtrack to Labyrinth if it was made in modern times.
