WEDNESDAY APRIL 25TH

MusicCork Showcase @ Cork Opera House (8pm, free)
Free showcase gig at the Opera House for the MusicCork conference. Hermitage Green, The Strypes, Stephanie Rainey and Fontaines D.C. performing. Tickets still available at the link.

Slacker Club Night @ Cyprus Avenue (11pm, free)
BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart keeps the proceedings running into the night for the MusicCork conference.

THURSDAY APRIL 26TH

MusicCork Showcase @ An Bróg (6.45pm, free)
The former home of new music in the city plays host to part of night 2 of MusicCork. Performing: Thanks Brother, State Lights, Lilla Vargen, Tebi Rex & Darce. Free, but ticketed.

Nialler9 MusicCork Showcase @ Cyprus Avenue (7.30pm, free)
The bossman puts on a show for the MusicCork conference. As per procedure, free tickets at the link. Performing: Le Boom, Erica Cody, Roe, Kojaque and Shookrah.

IMRO Showcase @ Crane Lane, Cork (7.30pm, free)
The Irish Music Rights Organisation hosts its showcase gig at the Crane Lane Theatre. Performing: Laoise, 1000 Beasts, Siights & Day_s.

Rubyworks Showcase @ The Old Oak (7.30pm, free)
Rubyworks presents the last of the night’s showcase gigs, downstairs from Cyprus Avenue. Performing: Little Hours, Otherkin, Eve Belle and Sean O’B.

No Covers @ The Friary (8pm, free)
Christian Holmes, Cara Kursh, Bear Bojack, and The Nation Mourns play the city’s biggest little venue for its monthly songwriters’ night.

Sive & Dani @ DeBarra’s (9pm, €7)
Singer-songwriters pair up to take on a three-date swing of Cork county, kicking off their weekend in Clonakilty.

FRIDAY APRIL 27TH

Le Galaxie @ Golden Discs (1pm, free)
In-store gig and appearance from Dublin synth-poppers in support of new album ‘Pleasure’, available now.

BLESS. @ The Brú (8pm, free)
London indie lads stop at the Brú on McCurtain Street while on tour in Ireland.

The Elation @ The Kino (8pm, €10)
Corkonian indie-poppers headline at the Washington Street alcohol-free venue, with supports and an “indie disco” DJ set.

Jack O’Rourke @ Sirius Arts Centre (8pm, €15)
Leeside singer-songwriter heads up the river to Cobh for an evening gig at the Sirius Arts Centre.

Sive & Dani @ Levis’ of Ballydehob (8.30pm, pass-the-hat)
The excursion continues for the folk/jazz pair, each performing solo sets at Levis’ in a backroom gig.

Undercurrent @ The Poor Relation (9pm, free)
It’s a birthday party for some of the U:C residents… so it’s free doors and all-night bass with the lads at the decks.

Charlie Bones @ Connolly’s of Leap (9pm, €10)
NTS Radio’s breakfast DJ takes his live set on a one-date excursion under the hammers. Aoife O’Neill in support.

Paddy Hanna @ DeBarra’s of Clonakilty (9.15, €10)
Dublin songwriter’s wit and wisdom finally unfolds fully across new album ‘Frankly I Mutate’.

SATURDAY APRIL 28TH

Rock Against Racism @ The Kino (1pm, €5-10 suggested donation)
Stevie G, Bubba Shakespeare, Twitch Jnr, Cara Kursh, Maria Gillen, Outsider Yp, Minnie Marley and Happy Alone make up a very special lineup of music and discussion of cultural diversity in the city’s communities.

NC Grey @ The Roundy (7.30pm, free)

Rising British-Nigerian singer and songwriter, listing greats like Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone & Sade Adu among her influences. Presented by Stevie G’s Black on Red.

Paddy Hanna @ Levis’ of Ballydehob (8.30pm, pass-the-hat)
Hanna stops out in Levis’ as part of the launch weekend for ‘Frankly I Mutate’.

SUNDAY APRIL 29TH

Cuttin’ Heads Collective @ The Vicarstown Bar (3pm, free)
Gadget and the Cloud features on this month’s CHC all-dayer at the Vic, with both live and DJ sets. Support from Shiv and Ines, as well as CHC residents.

Orchid Collective @ Franciscan Well (6pm, free)
Cork alternative folk lads take to the riverside brewery for an evening session.

Ringo: Music Bingo: The Stage Show @ Coughlan’s (8.30pm, €10)
After years of hosting the pop-friendly game of references and taking it to venues all over Europe, the bauld Ronan Leonard finally presents a full stage production centred around Ringo Music Bingo. Videos, a raffle and Agony Uncle Ronan are promised.
