Video: Daithí – ‘Sleep Like A Stone’

Daithí O’ Dronaí first came to many people’s attention via appearances on TV shows Must Be The Music and All-Ireland Talent Show but he’s proving himself as much more than a mere novelty act these days.

With his trademark electric fiddle, loop stations, Kaoss Pads and table of electronics, the young Galwegian has been making a noticeable noise on the live front. Next Monday, he releases the loop-heavy 7-track EP The Embrace via Bandcamp for €5 and this epic track ‘Sleep Like A Stone’ features on it. The video was directed by Brendan Canty and Conal Thomson. Tour dates for February & March and a live video are after the jump. Daithí will also be seen on Other Voices on the 9th March at 11.45pm.

  1. That was a great video and a great song, although not being an Irish speaker I have no idea how to pronounce Daithí’s name. Is it like DATH-ee or… ?
