Dublin music “scene” regulars will be familiar at least with the name Hipster Youth, Aidan Wall’s solo project which has a of lo-fi album called Teenage Elders available on Bandcamp through Wall’s own Long Lost Records (Porn On Vinyl & Lorem Ipsum).
Wall has now teamed up with David Geraghty and Ciaran Hoogendoorn for Soil Creep, a much more edifying project so far in my book. The two new songs available are ‘Whitethorn’ a spinning emotive fuzzy synth-based tune with vocals which touch on yodelling (!) and my favourite ‘Arbour’, a shimmering keys and clockwork beat-driven song which takes a turn towards hypnotic and euphoric dance synths and piano melodies. Early days yet but I like this.
