Beyond The Pale NOT cancelled according to organisers

Beyond The Pale cancelled? Beyond The Pale cancelled?
Beyond The Pale cancelled?

The statement came after Irish business publication The Currency reported that Beyond The Pale has cancelled the festival and is going into liquidation and therefore will not take place next weekend.

The festival is due to take place on June 13th to 15th next weekend with a lineup that featured Jon Hopkins, Róisín Murphy, TV On The Radio, Broken Social Scene, Marc Rebillet, Boney M and Irish acts like Gurriers, Sprints, Skinner, Le Boom and many more including food, arts, wellness and practitioners across different cultural fields.

The Currency’s report says the decision was made only last night – Friday June 6th – that the Beyond The Pale cancelled festival would not take place, and the company Cupola Events Ltd run by Declan Forde would be liquidated “effective immediately.”

Whatsapp messages were circulating this morning suggesting the festival was cancelled before The Currency saying “a last-minute finance deal to bridge a cashflow gap during the course of the festival is being blamed by its organisers for causing its liquidation.”

The Journal and Irish Examiner have since reported the story.

The organisers have now at 2pm Saturday June 7th issued a statement through their press officer saying:

The current statement on Beyond The Pale Festival is not cancelled.
This is the official line so far and as much as I currently know now.

The festival posted on Instagram later at 10:30pm.

It reads:

Look, it’s unbelievably tough out there for independent festivals, venues, promoters, artists…we all know that. Today we very nearly stumbled, ngl. But the festival gods smiled upon us, and the fate of Beyond the Pale is secure for 2025, and for many years to come.
