Vulfpeck are a supremely tight American funk band whose obsessively minimal grooves and extraordinary musicianship built a cult following from YouTube to Madison Square Garden.
The Ann Arbor funk outfit have built one of the most devoted cult followings in contemporary music entirely on their own terms – through obsessively tight playing, a minimalist aesthetic that strips everything back to what the groove actually needs, and a series of albums that understand the history of funk and soul deeply enough to do something genuinely new with it. Jack Stratton, Theo Katzman, Joe Dart and Woody Goss have been at it since 2011, and the catalogue from Thrill of the Arts through The Beautiful Game, Mr Finish Line and Hill Climber is remarkably consistent.
In 2014 they released Sleepify – a completely silent album on Spotify – as a protest against the platform’s payout structure, used the streaming revenue it generated to fund a free admission tour, and got away with it until Spotify pulled the album. They then sold out Madison Square Garden.
Vulfpeck come to Vicar Street, Dublin on Monday July 6th 2026. Tickets on sale Friday May 15th at 10am via singularartists.ie and Ticketmaster.ie, priced at €65.25 plus booking fee for both ground floor standing and balcony.
