Maynard James Keenan returns to Dublin for the first time in three years.
Puscifer – the band he leads alongside Mat Mitchell and Carina Round – play The Helix on Thursday November 12th 2026 as part of their The Normal Isn’t Tour, with special guest Dave Hill.
Puscifer?
If you know Maynard from TOOL or A Perfect Circle, forget both of those for a second. Puscifer is weirder and looser and more fun than either. It’s him, Mat Mitchell and Carina Round, plus whoever they’ve decided to drag in – past collaborators include Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and, for reasons that make complete sense if you’ve spent any time in the Puscifer universe, Bob Odenkirk and Milla Jovovich. There are original characters. There’s animated content. There’s a fictional agent called Dick Merkin. It’s a freak show in the best possible sense and live it’s a full theatrical production, not a rock gig with some interesting lighting.
The new album
Normal Isn’t is their fifth record, out now on BMG. Recorded in Arizona and at their new LA studio, it’s a goth-post-punk-new wave record filtered through the Puscifer brain – Moog One, Fairlight CMI, Synclavier synths, and more guitar than they’ve leaned on in a while. It’s darker and crunchier than recent stuff.
Keenan on what it’s about: “What we currently see around us does not appear normal. Not by a long shot.”
Why The Helix?
Puscifer’s live show is purported to one of the more genuinely unusual experiences in rock music – part gig, part theatre, part comedy, part something else. The Helix is a proper sit-down theatre space.
