ESNS returns to Groningen from January 13th to 16th, with Irish acts Aaron Rowe and Bleech 9:3 among the first names confirmed, plus a new delegates-only Wednesday programme.
Eurosonic Noorderslag has announced its first wave of artists for the 2027 edition, running Wednesday January 13th to Saturday January 16th in Groningen, the Netherlands. The selection follows a record-breaking response to this year’s application process, with almost 6,000 artists submitting before the September 1st deadline.
The first 42 acts were nominated by 28 EBU member radio stations, representing 31 European countries in total. Confirmed names include Aaron Rowe (IE), Bleech 9:3 (IE), Gildaa (FR), Gwenifer Raymond (UK-WAL), HVNDS (RO), Ida The Young (CZ), Isabel van Gelder (NL), Little Grandad (UK-ENG), Mischa and The Bear (IE), MICHA (NL), Olga Myko (SE), Osayuki (BE), panicbaby (DE), Pigeon (UK-ENG) and TeddyBear (BE), among others still to be revealed.

New for 2027, ESNS is introducing a delegates-only programme on the Wednesday at De Oosterpoort, before opening up to the wider festival crowd across the city’s venues for the rest of the weekend. Managing Director Anna van Nunen said the new Wednesday programme gives music professionals and fans a way to discover new music and the city of Groningen at the same time, with further details on that day’s programme still to come.

Niall Byrne is the founder of the most-influential Irish music site Nialler9, where he has been writing about music since 2005.
