It covers new music, emerging Irish artists, album reviews, the weekly Dublin Gig Guide, and a music podcast, with a baseline of 65,000 unique readers per month. The site has has won Best Music Site at the Irish Web Awards three times, the Irish Blog Awards for Best Music Blog five consecutive times and and has been described by the Sunday Times as “the grandaddy of Irish music blogs.” The site is headquartered in Dublin.

Niall Byrne is the founder of the most-read Irish music site Nialler9, operating out of Dublin city since 2005, where he writes about music and hosts the Nialler9 Podcast. Niall has written for the Irish Times, Irish Independent, Sunday Times, Totally Dublin, Cara Magazine and Red Bull. He has served on the judging panel of the Choice Music Prize Irish album of the year, Ireland’s equivalent of the Mercury Prize three times, and previously hosted a Nialler9 radio show on TXFM.

Niall is a music event curator and producer who hosts and consults on gigs, parties & events. Niall has curated once-off music events at SXSW in Austin, Texas & Camden Crawl in London as well as nationally for Musictown, Dublin Theatre Festival, Cork’s Sounds From A Safe Harbour and Happenings among others. Most recently, Niall co-produced Night Moves a DJ-lead event at the Fruit & Veg Market off Capel Street as part of Culture Night Dublin.

Niall is a DJ and resident of the monthly Lumo Club.
Niall puts on club nights like his popular Indie Sleaze Club night, monthly Listening Parties along with the long running Lumo Club, a monthly “house party in a club” night in Dublin and also DJs around Ireland and at festivals like Electric Picnic, All Together Now, Other Voices and Body&Soul.
Niall is available for DJ Bookings for club nights, corporate events, launches, parties and weddings.
His DJ sets feature melodic electronic music with a penchant for current anthems and a curveball classics.
