BLAB is new multi-media publication about Irish music worth talking about.
Consisting of a print magazine, a cassette tape and live gigs in Dublin, BLAB’s first issue of BLAB arrives March 30th.
BLAB says:
At BLAB, we are advocates of physical media and, in particular, we dig cassette culture. These quarterly tapes will act as a living, breathing audio document of our alternative scene and a celebration of those musicmakers who thrive within it.
This limited edition 100-copy magazine will provide editorial depth and storytelling to BLAB’s output, one strand in our mission to document Ireland’s ever-evolving alternative music scene.
The mag plugs into our love of the printed music press like Hot Press, NME Magazine, Melody Maker, Q, The Goo, Dork and So Young.
Every BLAB edition will conclude with two four-act showcases, featuring all four artists highlighted on the cassette and in the magazine and their own favourite picks. All profits from BLAB editions are split evenly between the featured artists.
Each quarterly BLAB edition consists of:
- Cassette Tape featuring four Irish artists
- 24-page Magazine with interviews,features and artwork
- Live showcase featuring all four artists
- Fringe showcase curated by the four BLAB artists
You can buy each part individually or as part of a bundle.
See Bundle options on Bandcamp.
The first BLAB gig features Burglar, Delivery Service, Digdeep, Nixer live in The Grand Social on March 30th also. Tickets on Eventbrite.
The fringe showcase is announced at a later date.
