Diamond Dagger releases new solo material on ESP Institute
He’s been known as Sarsparilla, he’s been known as Diamond Dagger. For a new two-track 12″ release on Lovefingers’ New York-based label ESP Institute, Damien Lynch is using his own name.
Where the music of Diamond Dagger is precision electro with throwback a synthesizer feel, this new release is less rigid, softer and more lush, reminiscent of Fort Romeau in parts.
Side B ‘Safe House’ employs a Kalimba to give that soft effect, and builds up with an arpeggiated synth while Side A is eight minutes of shimmering synths and handclaps paired with a meditation speech sample.
The release is available on Juno and Clone now. Hear snippets.
