Fontaines D.C release new video for ‘Here’s The Thing’
Ahead of the release of Romance this month on August 23rd, Fontaines have released another track from the album on XL Recordings.
‘Here’s The Thing’ is the latest in the singles from the record, with a strong Whipping Boy vocal melody to these ears, though the press release mentions “the mechanical, mutant guitar sounds of Placebo and the electronic expressiveness of Shygirl and Eartheater.”
“It’s an anxious tune that twists and turns in what it wants, back and forth between pain and numbness,” lead singer Grian Chatten says.
The video for the song is a stop start cinematic one by filmmaker Luna Carmoon, and is inspired by The Lost Boys and Phenomena through the lens of an Irish dancing competition.
Previous singles include ‘Starburster’ and ‘Favourite’.
Last week, Fontaines D.C. cancelled a gig in Istanbul due to venue sponsor’s investment in Israel power plants, and they also announced a big London show at Finsbury Park.
