Glasshouse are performing the music of Ryuichi Sakamoto at Pavilion Theatre this December
Glasshouse Ensemble are set to play a concert of Ryuichi Sakamoto music this December as part of the Between the Notes’ concert series at the Pavilion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire.
“Between the Notes is a new concert series showcasing artists from around the world who are reshaping the boundaries of contemporary music, creating sonic landscapes to lose ourselves in, and exploring the powerful emotions that exist “between the notes”.”
Glasshouse Ensemble’s Between The Notes concert performing the music of the recently-passed Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto on Wednesday December 6th.
Sakamoto was known for his work with the band Yellow Magic Orchestra, on film scores The Last Emperor, Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence ( both of which he acted in), The Revenant and more.
Glasshouse are pleased blessing of Sakamoto’s team and of the Japanese Embassy for this tribute.

Glasshouse is a music ensemble and arts organisation based in Dublin. Their mission is to elevate Irish music through commissioning and collaboration, combining sound, space and visual design to create unforgettable music experiences. Recent projects include new works for the theremin, a new commission by R. Kitt and collaborative projects with Irish artists Æ MAK, Caoi de Barra, Rachael Lavelle, and Gareth Quinn Redmond. Previous Glasshouse performances at Pavilion Theatre include Kate Bush, tónlist: Icelandic Minimalism, Holocene: Bon Iver, and Johann Johannsson’s Orphée.
