The shortlist for this year’s RTÉ Choice Music Prize Irish Song of the Year 2025 is the latest of the shortlists from the prize to be announced this week, rolling out on Tracy Clifford’s show on RTÉ 2FM.
The song of the year shortlist is always more commercial, as it is drawn not solely by judges but 3 songs from Radiomonitor Airplay Charts, 3 songs chosen by the Album of the Year Judging Panel and 4 songs chosen by 2FM. The winner is decided by a public vote.

The nature of the public vote means this is unlikely to go to anyone not named Amble, Kingfisher or Ducrot.

The winning song will be announced by Tracy Clifford on 5th March on a special Song of the Year radio show on 2FM that afternoon ahead of the live event taking place in Vicar St that evening.
