Kneecap’s Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh released on unconditional bail, legal case set for August 20th

Liam Óg O hAnnaidh appeared in Westminster Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday on the charge of a terrorism offence.

The case was adjourned until August 20th when the legal case will be heard, with O hAnnaidh released on unconditional bail until the next hearing on August 20th.

This case is not about Mr O’ hAnnaidh’s support for the people of Palestine or his criticism of Israel,” Prosecutor Michael Bisgrove said. He told the court Mo Chara is “well within his rights” to express his support and solidarity for Palestinians.

The Kneecap member known as Mo Chara was charged for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag at the band’s gig in O2 Forum, Kentish Town on November 21st on “reasonable suspicion that he is a supporter of a proscribed organisation, namely Hizballah.”

The court appearance was attended outside by dozens of supporters who gathered to sing and show solidarity with Liam Óg O hAnnaidh aka Mo Chara, Kneecap, Mo Chara and Palestine.

Afterwards, the band said they’d see fans at Glastonbury, see video below.

The Tenth Man placed a sign that said More Blacks, More Dogs, More Irish, Mo Chara around London in the lead up to the case hearing.
