Lauryn Hill announces Dublin show on The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill 20th anniversary tour
Ms. Lauryn Hill has announced a Dublin show on her The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill tour later this year for 30 November at the 3Arena. The stadium gig will celebrate the 20th anniversary of her seminal and influential breakthrough album.
”This album chronicled an intimate piece of my young existence,” Hill says. “It was the summation of most, if not all, of my most hopeful and positive emotions experienced to that date. I loved and believed deeply in my community’s ability to both love and heal itself provided it received the right amount of support and encouragement. Our world today, both complex and changing, is in need of the balance between moral fortitude and cathartic expression. I hope the love and energy that permeated this work can continue to inspire change with love and optimism at the helm.”
Tickets from €67 including booking fee and restoration levy go on sale this Friday at 9am from Ticketmaster. VIP packages are also available, at an additional cost.
A word of warning to those unfamiliar: don’t expect a note for note replay of the album, Hill is known for re-arranging her songs into very different shades.
Ms Hill will use the gigs to raise money and awareness for 45 charities with a portion of the ticket going to the MLH Fund , which directly contributes support for education, health, agriculture, technology, and community based businesses and development initiatives throughout the Diaspora.
