Limerick collective Hardware bring improvised electronic night to Dublin’s The Complex

Hardware has announced a Dublin event for the concept club featuring Barker.

Over the weekend, The Complex hosted Ouch: Fragments Of Eternity, featuring 6 Irish electronic artists performing in a round robin style, under the lore of an ethereal island of Athrú.

Brawni was one of the six electronic artists alongside Sloucho, Rhoshi, Vaticanjail, Spooklet and Rory Sweeney performing at Ouch, and he is one of the core founders of a similar night that has been happening in Limerick for a while now, called Hardware.

Brawni and Chaz Moloney are the founders of the project and the show is all about making 4 hours of improvised electronic music. The night revolves around improvisation and hardware instruments—modular synthesizers, drum machines, and more—delivering a unique, never-to-be-repeated experience.

For its debut in Dublin, Chaz Moloney & Brawni will be joined by international artists Barker & Kangding Ray at The Complex on Saturday March 15th.

There will also be a visual art exhibition featuring Aisling Phelan, Aoife Ní Dhuinn, Mollie Mia Murphy & Serena Devereux with the theme of “Synthetic Artefacts”.

And, Efa O’Neill will soundscape an Ambient Lounge area.

“Hardware is a concept club event inspired by the tools we use to make electronic music,” says Brawni.

“The idea is for it to be an interactive event between the performers and the audience, where the performers are interacting with the audience in terms of energy. The whole process of creation in my opinion is such a spiritual thing and what we’re allowing is for that process of creation to happen in front of the audience but also for the audience to influence that.”

The show runs from 8pm to 1am on the night and tickets cost €28 plus fees from Resident Advisor.
