Listen to a finger-picked track from Monaghan-based Emakousma
Barry Quinn is a Monaghan man, an illustrator and a musician under the name Emakousma who will release his debut album Island on Ian Maleney’s Fallow Field record label.
The music of Emakousma isn’t too far away from the likes of Chequerboard, finger-plucked guitars, atmospheric tones and piano are incorporated on the ten tracks of the debut. It also shares a similar gift expressive and hopeful melodies. ‘Can’t Reach The Pedals’ is a bit like a more expressive and content John Fahey song that features beautiful duelling melodies. It is track two on the record:
Island is out on November 18th on cassette and digital through Fallow Field.
