Lumo Club celebrates our 8th birthday @ Tengu this Saturday night
Lumo Club is a club night we started eight years ago this month.
Lumo kicked off in 2015 as we looked to put on a club night that looks beyond the relative confines of sticking to house and techno that still dominate the city’s dwindling club spaces.
Lumo is always about a good tune first, a melodic track – whether it’s electronic, disco, Italo, ’80s pop, ’90s dance, ’70s rock, pop or an obscure original.
Good tunes. Good people. A small room. A disco ball. A lot of dancing. No distractions, was the mantra.
Lumo Club residents Nialler9, Gavin Elsted and Simon Roche will be celebrating our 8 year milestone this Saturday in Tengu with our 67th night of Lumo dancing.
The last few Early bird tickets for Saturday’s birthday bash are available from Eventbrite.
October will be our second last club night of the year before Kelly-Anne Byrne joins us in December.
To celebrate the milestone we are putting out three mixes from the Lumo Club residents on Mixcloud this week.
First up: Gav Elsted with two more to follow from Simon and myself.
Lumo is a club night where you will dance with friends not just face the DJ. A club night where you will hear the likes of Four Tet, Fleetwood Mac, Abba, Arthur Russell, Phil Collins, Caribou, The Knife, Paul McCartney, Grimes, George Michael, Robert Hood, Mood Hut, LCD Soundsystem, La Bionda, Kate Bush, Kraftwerk, Beastie Boys, Bruce Springsteen, Robyn, Ryan Paris, Steely Dan, Soulwax, ZZ Top, Zapp & Roger.
