My pick of the week:
a lazarus soul – No Flowers Grow In Cement Gardens
The Dublin band’s follow-up to 2019’s The D They Put Between the R & L.
The album is named after a line from The Fall’s ‘Psykick Dancehall’, (a band that a lazarus soul formed for a 2011 tribute gig) is a meditation on wilderness, nature and spirit.
Kiasmos – II
The second album of elegaic contemporary electronica from Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds and Faroese musician Janus Rasmussen.
Fabric presents The Streets
The Streets Fabric mix features Fred Again.., Coki, Flowdan, Mango St. Hilaire, Dermot Kennedy and mustbejohn. Also features two new Streets songs.
HNNY – Light Shines Through
Swedish producer’s first album in nine years, and features breakbeats, house music with ambient textures.
Fixity – 8
The latest full-length from Dan Walsh, a seven-track in which he plays drums, bass, synthesizer, piano, bass recorder, guitar, tenor and soprano saxophones, flutes and sings.
Bklava – c u l8r mixtape
A 14-track homage to club culture from Irish London-based DJ/producer/vocalist, featuring MJ Cole, Big Ang, Soul Mass Transit System and more.
Hazey Haze & mankyy – SHY BOII GETS NO SWEETS
Limerick rapper and producer link up on an album that serves as “a document of life on the outskirts of society in Limerick’s Island Field.” Features Dan Walsh of Fixity and Eilis Mahon (Icebear, Girlfriend). On DSPs today.
Annie-Dog – Annie-Dog EP
Irish indie artists drops a five-track EP. Takes inspiration from Alex G, Imogen Heap and PinkPantheress.
Glimmerman – Temple Sublet
New four-track EP on First Second label from London-based Dubliner with bass, 2-step and wub and a verse from London-based poet and lyricist Older Brother.
