Conradh na Gaeilge’s Irish language programme Croí Na Féile will be in full bloom again this year at Electric Picnic as the Irish language stage, An Chollchoill, returns this year and will celebrate Irish music, language and culture throughout the weekend.
And of course Hazelwood has a much earlier start at the festival, for those who were lucky enough to catch the early worm and bag a ticket for early entry to the festival on Thursday night they will be treated to an all-female lineup of comedy and music from Bláithín de Burca, Jess Collins, Laytha, Leanne Toland, Sinéad Walsh and Neev.
This year Conradh na Gaeilge’s Croí na Féile is set to bring the Irish language to centre stage with a mix of traditional music agus cultúr Gaelach with acts every night from 7pm to after midnight. These acts will feature some great DJs from Puzzy Wrangler, Aonad and Dabla, traditional music and folk from Coscán, Billow Wood and The Fógues and the unforgettable Sexy Tadgh, not to be missed!
Daytime will see winners of the Electric Youth competition showcase their talents in a range of genres from spoken word to vocal and instrumental pieces, performance art from Strive Theatre, music from accordion maestro Liam O’Connor plus much more!
Once again, campers will have the opportunity to pitch their tents in the company of other Irish language speakers in the official Gaeltacht campsite, an Láthair Ghaeltachta. Conradh na Gaeilge invites Picnickers to come and stay in the Gaeltacht campsite, where Irish will be the main spoken language with ceol, craic agus cannaí among Gaels at the festival. The campsite will offer a chance for people to use their Gaeilge throughout the weeke
