The Irish slowcore artist Liam McCay is picking up fans all over.

Sign Crushes Motorist is a slowcore-influenced project of the Donegal artist Liam McCay, who is 19 years-old and fresh out of secondary school.

The music inspired by slacker and lo-fi alt-rock music with a particular nod to Duster, the San Jose, California band who released three main albums in the slowcore genre in the 90s. The project name, Sign Crushes Motorist, is the title of a Duster song.

Sign Crushes Motorist now has over 3.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, but McCay  has released music under the name Take CareBirth Day, Make His Ribs ShowMantaHoldMiserable Teens ClubRoamingbusty latinasDeath TrapMoon Water to name some.

After a recent sold out show, Sign Crushes Motorist has been announced for a Whelan’s Dublin show on Friday May 10th.

Tickets are €16 plus fees from Selective Memory.

Sign Crushes Motorist then heads on a 18 date tour of the US this summer.
