Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project comes to 50 countries & Madonna is involved
Last year, I had the privilege of visiting India and Thailand as part of the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project and it’s back this year with a whopping 50 countries involved in the global nightlife event which will take place on one night in November. As with last year, you can suggest your ideas as to what makes a perfect night out at Facebook in the categories of drinks, dance, fashion, music, places and more. The best entries will be co-opted into the Irish night which will then be sent to one of the 50 countries (up from last year’s 14) worldwide while we get their nightlife in return, hence the exchange part. Last year, Ireland swapped with Argentina and artists who played worldwide included N.E.R.D., Bonde do Role, Spoek Mathambo, Z Boys Noize, The Golden Filter, Dragonette, Superpitcher and Van She.
An interesting addition to the Exchange this year is Madonna. The just-turned 53 year old pop star is looking for a dancer to join her next tour. If you saw some impromptu dancers in Dublin city centre this morning this was the reason y’all. Any dancers looking to enter the competition will find info on the Smirnoff site. The comp is open until October 10th and the dancers amongst you must submit a 60 second clip of you dancing as your entry. Madonna herself will be in attendance at one of the Nightlife Exchange events worldwide to judge the finalists who enter and the winner may get the opportunity to join her tour. You must be over 21 years of age to enter. Terms and conditions apply. Yadda Yadda…
The 50 countries participating in the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project include: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, Dubai, Ecuador, El Salvador, Germany, Ghana, Great Britain, Greece, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Romania, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, Trinidad, Turkey, Uruguay, United States, Venezuela and Vietnam.
