Tattoos for Fun is the latest song from the Dublin songwriter, and speaks of the parallel experiences of children in Palestine compared to Smith’s own. “My new song, was sparked by a simple moment—playing with my daughter, covering ourselves in pound-shop tattoos,” he said. “But as I pulled her from a tumbling Lego tower, I couldn’t shake the thought of parents in Gaza marking their children in case of the unimaginable. That image stayed with me, and the song poured out.”
