The Irish alt-pop artist Morgana has released her first single since the Party Killer EP earlier this year.
The assertive ‘I’m Not Going Anywhere’ glides with electronic synth-pop textures and a propulsive beat, with vocals that recall St. Vincent.
The song is inspired by the decision to continue an artistic career after Saint Sister decided to stop touring and making music.
” I was 31 and had spent my 20s establishing myself as a musician. Meanwhile, all my friends were buying houses and starting families. Confronted with the choice of giving up or starting again, I decided to double down. I spent weeks in London on my sister’s sofa, meeting as many producers as I could, eventually finding belief in myself and my new sound. This song was one of my first as a solo artist. Born out of that determination, the refrain “I’m Not Going Anywhere” became a North Star for me and the MO for the project.”
