There’s a morning rave happening near Rialto next Friday

Daybreak takes place at The Playground as part of Culture Date With Dublin 8.

I’m DJing a morning rave in at Playground Studios over the bridge from Rialto off the canal alongside Limerick DJ Ceese on Friday May 9th, from 6:45am to 8:45am.

We will be playing some house, disco, afrobeats and classics. It’s a family friendly event and aimed at those looking to start their morning a bit differently – sure Dublin is all about early evening raving these days but the morning ones are rare.

Tickets are €10 plus booking fee from Eventbrite and each ticket includes a complimentary coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

I DJed a morning rave when Morning Gloryville was around Dublin around 10 years ago and it was a bit of craic now.

Catch a bit of DJ Ceese’s vibe at the Outline sessions in the Playground recently…

And my DJ set from All Together Now Guinness Toucan Bar last year.

This morning rave will be a flagship highlight of Culture Date With Dublin 8, a vibrant festival of Dublin City that celebrates the rich cultural tapestry in Dublin’s most historic and creative district. As one of the most anticipated moments of the programme, this exclusive early morning event perfectly captures the festival’s ethos – transforming everyday spaces into unforgettable experiences and inviting locals to see the city in a new light.

The Playground is a dynamic creative studio and event space nested in the heart of Rialto, Dublin 8. Known for its raw, industrial charm and versatile layout, it has fast become a hub for artists, musicians, and forward-thinking cultural events. With its unique canal-side location and strong ties to the local creative community, the Playground offers an inspiring backdrop for experiences that push boundaries and bring people together in unexpected ways.

Easily accessible by major bus routes and just 10 minute walk from the Rialto Luas stop, this is a unique cultural moment not to be missed. Limited parking available – carpooling encouraged if driving is totally necessary.
