Choice Cuts has announced a rare live performance from pioneering Japanese DJ and producer DJ Krush.
They are bringing one of the most influential figures in instrumental hip-hop and trip-hop to Dublin this year at the The Sugar Club on Saturday October 3rd 2026.
Few figures in instrumental hip-hop have had the kind of lasting influence that DJ Krush has built over three decades. Emerging from Tokyo’s underground scene in the early 1990s, he developed a sound that blended hip-hop beats with jazz, ambient textures and traditional Japanese influences into something genuinely his own – cinematic, deeply atmospheric and unlike almost anything else happening at the time.
His collaborations with DJ Shadow, Mos Def and members of the extended A Tribe Called Quest family helped establish him as a key figure in the global underground, and his catalogue has continued to influence producers worldwide long after those early records.
Live, he’s known for immersive, hypnotic sets that move fluidly between genres without ever losing the thread.
Tickets go on sale Friday March 27 at 10am via thesugarclub.com.
