The classically-trained musician Niamh Parkinson released her debut i am niamh album Wonderland, earlier this year which melds her background with sounds drawn from cello, piano and her piping vocals, sometimes brought through a loop pedal and processed for the world into a contemporary orchestral pop style.
The third single from the album, ‘Creep’ is a perfect example, as choral hypnotic vocals rise above hard-edged electronics arranged with a classical mind. The video for the song, directed by Aidan Duffy has Parkinson exploring different personas.
