Wise Blood – These Wings EP
I listened to Wise Blood’s newest EP These Wings four times yesterday. It wasn’t hard, it’s seven songs have a running time of 17 minutes long but in fairness to Pittsburgh’s Christopher Laufman, it’s an extremely digestable release – a hyperactive din of experimental sampled pop songs where no individual track exceeds two and a half minutes. It’s running time is buoyed by some killer lyrics like “Baby, I ain’t no man / I’ve got to confess / I’ll probably kill ya just to try on your dress”. The EP is released digitally and on vinyl via Dovecote.
