There has only ever been one clear number one for me in terms of remixes this year. It’s a track which slayed dancefloors from Dublin to Barcelona to Novi Sad. As ever, Four Tet has his hand in the pot and could have had a few more were it not for good showings from Friends Of Friends with Lol Boys and Shlohmo, Goodtime’s remix project, Kanye’s ‘Mercy’ doing the remix business, Nicolas Jaar, Jape, Young Wonder, Bantum and Hudson Mohawke. Full list of 25 remixes with a Soundcloud playlist for all but two. I’d love to hear your favourite in the comments…

radiohead

I picked up this today. The King Of Limbs is certainly an album that has improved with time since it was released so it’s actually a perfect time for some Radiohead remix action. The first of which sees Dan Snaith’s Caribou remix ‘Little By Little’ into a long minimal workout while Jacques Greene takes ‘Lotus Flower’ into a post-dubstep synth direction. Another 12″ is released in two weeks with remixes of ‘Morning Mr. Magpie’ by Nathan Fake and two remixes of ‘Bloom’ by Mark Pritchard.

gorillaz

gorillaz Two remixes of Gorillaz‘ ‘Stylo‘ popped into the inbox this morning I can share with you all.

First up, the DJ Kofi remix which adds big beats and bass and removes the synth of the original. Secondly, my favourite overall, the Labyrinth remix (link?) which features a guest verse from Tinie Tempah and goes for some 8-bit style.

Alex Metric also turned in a remix people are going mad for. As for Plastic Beach, it’s out on March 5th and they are teasing us with pirate radio broadcasts with new songs, music video trailers and idents a couple of which you can see below. I just can’t wait to hear how the likes of Snoop Dogg, Gruff Rhys, Lou Reed and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble fit into all this.

telepathe

Another really cool Rutledge remix, this time of hotly tipped Brooklyn band, Telepathe (Check out their Chrome’s On It EP). Rutledge did that nice Kills remix from a while back and get on to his myspace for more original stuff. A Radiohead remix is coming soon. More info about Rutledge’s work as Pedro after the jump.
