13 gigs and clubs to see in Cork this Bank Holiday weekend

THURSDAY AUGUST 2ND

Ciúnas @ Connolly’s of Leap (7.30pm, €20)
Moxie, Ye Vagabonds, Éna Brennan and Bear Bojack come together with Arbutus Yarns for a special day of quiet jamming, with a live performance of the results in the evening.

FRIDAY AUGUST 3RD

The Olllam @ DeBarra’s of Clonakilty (9.30pm, €18)
Vulfpeck members continue their live excursion with Belfast piper John McSherry, this time heading to Clon for a gig at DeBarra’s.

Epsilon @ Dali (10pm, €tbc)
Block promoter and the former XCIV assumes a new name and leans further into techno’s deeper recesses.

Wired Deep @ Cyprus Avenue (11pm, €10)
The Wired Deep boys go back to the Boiler Room setup, decks on the floor, for a Bank Holiday special.

SATURDAY AUGUST 4TH

The Monolith Festival @ Cyprus Avenue (2pm, €12)
The Paranoid Beast folks present an all-dayer showcasing the best of Irish metal: Yurt, Shardborne, God Alone, Molarbear and more ply the craft across a marathon billing.

Eirecore @ An Spailpín Fánach (5pm, €5/€10 after 7pm)
Sadly, not a live reunion of the old punk/hardcore message board, but a coming together of over a dozen techno DJs and producers, including UK speedcore lads Junkie Kuts.

Lúnasa and Natalie Merchant @ Live at St. Luke’s (7.30pm, €26)
Veteran Irish outfit team up with 10,000 Maniacs for a special run of collaborative gigs.

Stuart Wilde @ Levis’ of Ballydehob (8.30pm, donations)
Singer-songwriter with noirish tendencies plays a pass-the-hat gig at the village pub in Ballydehob.

Jerry Fish @ Connolly’s of Leap (8.30pm, €20)
An Emotional Fish man turned crooner and coraller of the arts heads under the Hammers for an intimate show.

One Horse Pony @ Crane Lane Theatre (9pm, free)
Cork folk outfit take centre-stage on Phoenix Street as part of Bank Holiday proceedings.

One Til One @ Connolly’s of Leap (1pm, €20)
Fish Go Deep, Colm K, Colm Motherway, Arveene and Bon Voyage head out to Leap for a 12-hour session for the Sunday Bank Holiday.

Sundown Sunday @ The Sextant (3pm, free)
Gwada Mike continues his open-decks series of reggae days at the Sextant.
