Jeff Buckley - Grace (1994) is our next Listening Party album event

Join Nialler9 and Aoife Barry for this month’s Listen Closely album parties in The Big Romance.

Listen Closely is a chance to appreciate a modern classic album on the Big Romance’s warm Toby Hatchett soundsystem with a chat about the record on the night, whether you know it and love it, or if it’s brand new to you. We play the album and provide some background context and chat about it too.

This month’s album:

Tuesday August 26th at The Big Romance.

Wednesday August 27th at The Big Romance. (SOLD OUT)

Jeff Buckley – Grace [1994]

One of the ’90s most revered albums, Grace is an astonishing debut LP from the American singer-songwriter. Sadly, it was to be his only album as he tragically died three years later but the album is considered a classic for its wide-ranging, reaching vocals (Buckley’s voice spanned four octaves), its resonant melding of rock, folk, soul and jazz and songs of intensity, beauty and grandeur including of course, the definitive cover of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’, along with songs like ‘Lover, You Should’ve Come Over’, ‘Mojo Pin’, and ‘Grace’.

Become a paid member of the Nialler9 Patreon to get half priced tickets.

Join Niall with guest Aoife Barry for a discussion about the record, and a playback of the album on vinyl, on The Big Romance’s wonderfully plush and clear Toby Hatchett soundsystem. We will chat about the record’s context, craft, production, lyrics and importance of this modern classic for a live Nialler9 Podcast episode.

Tickets are limited to 45 for this intimate event.

Doors: 7:00pm. Arrive early for seats.

Album playback and chat from 7.45pm.
