The Scratch have announced their third album will be released on March 13th 2026.
The Irish trad-folk rock band with a penchant for power chords, percussion and occasionally soft folk will release Pull Like A Dog on Sony Music Ireland, written at Hellfire Studio in Dublin with engineer Thomas Donoghue and producer John ‘Spud’ Murphy.
The title track and video for ‘Pull Like A Dog’ is out today, with the band going ninety in their more trademark guitar sound.
“It’s about tossing aside the idea of apologising for merely existing or hoping that if I keep colouring inside the lines I’ll get what I think I deserve” Daniel Lang says. “Mocking myself a bit but also getting the blood going so I’ll grab life by the scruff and be loud about it”.
The fun video is a collaboration with the band and noted Dublin-based videographer Paul Gleeson and was shot at Lough Ree in Shannon.
The band have added Gary “Gaz” Regan (guitar/backing vocals) to the line-up alongside Lango (cajón, percussion, lead vocals), Conor Dockery (guitar, backing vocals), and Cathal McKenna (bass/backing vocals).
Dermot Kennedy, Sorcha Richardson and The Scratch among names added to Other Voices Dingle
Of the new album, Conor Dockery says: “As a band, this feels like a new beginning. I think the changes we’ve faced have given us a lot of room to grow, maybe into roles we felt were off limits before. Openness, perseverance, and positivity – this album embodies all of that.”
