Jerry Fish’s late-night carnival village celebrates five years at Stradbally with its usual circus, cabaret and burlesque programming along with OTT Wrestling.
Fish Town is back at Electric Picnic for a fifth year, and ringmaster Jerry Fish is promising a bigger, wilder edition than ever. Set deep in the woods at Stradbally, the village is built around The Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow Circus Tent, three pop-up sideshow stages and The Heart and Anchor Bar, all populated by circus, cabaret, burlesque, pole, drag and sideshow walkabout performers throughout the weekend.
Two new additions headline the programme this year. There’s a trad rave, Dustin the Turkey is doing SOMETHING, and for the first time at the festival, Jerry Fish is bringing in OTT Wrestling, a live wrestling show mixing genuine athleticism with chaotic, crowd-driven theatre.
Music-wise, expect sets from MayKay, Jinx Lennon, Rowetta, Babyrat, Shobsy and Malaki, alongside house DJs like The Kilo 1977 and Kelly-Anne Byrne.
The sideshow programming has doubled in size for this edition too, with performances from Fire and Pole Queens, Fierce Family Troupe, The Pony Girls, Regina & The Queens’ drag show, Time Travel Theatre, Wobbly Circus, Miss Mary Jane, Dirty Circus and more, alongside a “The End of the World Party” featuring secret special guests.

Jerry Fish, the alter ego of musician Gerard Whelan (also of An Emotional Fish and Jerry Fish & The Mudbug Club), has built Fish Town into one of Electric Picnic’s most consistent late-night draws, an eclectic, theatrical space built around his long-running motto of “unity through diversity.”
Niall Byrne is the founder of the most-influential Irish music site Nialler9, where he has been writing about music since 2005. He is the co-host of the Nialler9 Podcast and has written for the Irish Times, Irish Independent, Sunday Times, Totally Dublin, Cara Magazine, Red Bull and more. Niall is a DJ, co-founder of Lumo Club, event curator, Indie Sleaze club promoter, and producer of gigs and monthly listening parties & events in Dublin.
