The Dublin band’s Samuel Beckett-inspired third single from Nobody’s Coming To Save You arrives ahead of a run of Irish, UK and European dates this autumn.
Gurriers have shared ‘Nothing Happens Twice’, the third single lifted from their second album Nobody’s Coming To Save You, out Friday September 25th via Play It Again Sam.
Faturing heatblasted energy and Dan Hoff’s blistering vocal style, the song was inspired by Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot and dead internet theory, the idea that online spaces are increasingly populated by bots rather than people, layering in political unease, digital alienation and dark humour.
‘Nothing Happens Twice’ was premiered by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 6 Music, and follows the album’s title track, as well as recent single ‘Party Lines’. The video is directed by Thomas James, who’s also worked with Kneecap, Bring Me the Horizon and Young Fathers.
Nobody’s Coming To Save You was recorded between Donegal’s Attica Studios and London’s Holy Mountain Studios, produced by Mark Bowen (Idles) and Loren Humphrey (Geese, Cameron Winter), with Chris Fullard (Idles, Sunn O)))) engineering and John Congleton (St. Vincent, Modest Mouse, Swans) mixing.

The band embark on an extensive UK and European autumn tour, taking in three big homecoming shows: Ulster Hall in Belfast, Vicar Street in Dublin, and their biggest headline show to date at the 3Olympia Theatre, with support across the tour from Enola Gay, Tramhaus, Really Good Time and Child Of Prague.
The band are also doing a Dublin out-store show with Spindizzy in The Grand Social on September 24th, which is on sale tomorrow.
